Week 11 produced 2 new updates for rosters around the league.

Week 11

Wednesday August 21st

The Suns waive EJ Liddell and Nassir Little. The moves with confident that rookies Ryan Dunn and Iso Igohodaro will be ready to replace these two. The Suns want control over their two selections from this past year and It'll help them financially in the future.

Friday August 23rd

The Pelicans waive Matt Ryan. Ryan played in 28 games last season for New Orleans. He's a very good shooter, but the move helps New Orleans financially. The Pelicans are now just over the luxury threshold.

The recaps the entire week as the offseason comes to it's slowest point of the year. However, let's provide an update on Brandon Ingram and what potential possibilities that can happen with a trade.

Brandon Ingram is highly talented. He's a top 40 player in the league in my opinion. So why do the Pelicans want to trade him? Ingram as of now does not fit the current timeline of the franchise. He doesn't provide the spacing needed for Zion Williamson and he's not a great defender. It's a little sad considering he really turned his career around in New Orleans. He started in Los Angeles before being traded to New Orleans as part of a trade that sent Anthony Davis to the Lakers. Ingram as had some really good playoffs series too. He played extremely well against the Suns in 2022 in the first round. He was able to close out Phoenix on the road in game 2 with 36 points and hit a bunch of clutch shots down the stretch as well.  It felt like he finally arrived, but that quickly went away. This brings us to the current situation. The emergence of Tre Murphy and the trade to acquire Dejounte Murray this offseason has signaled to the league that Ingram is not no longer in the future plans for New Orleans. He has 1 year left on his contract and is due 36 million dollars. He's eligible for a 4 year 208 million dollar deal, but New Orleans has not offered it to him. Another problem is New Orleans is in the first apron and has to match salaries with any team they make a trade with that involves Ingram.  As of now there's no news of Ingram being traded or any rumors, but it is a storyline to keep following as the offseason progresses.
