Week 17 saw the beginning of training camp along with NBA preseason games.
Week 17 saw the beginning of training camp and NBA preseason games. I will not breakdown any of the preseason games, but paying close attention to them will be key to see who makes rosters for the regular season. The season opens on October 22nd. I will also try and provide any training camp injuries that happen to significant players. I will not keep track of players that are waived, but will keep the projected rosters available on the 2024-2025 season previews.
Sunday September 29th
Dikembe Mutombo passed away at the age of 58 from brain cancer. Mutombo was an unbelievable shot blocker and player during his time in the NBA. Post career he was a phenomenal ambassador for the game of basketball. He will be missed as a legend of the game.
Tuesday October 1st
Luka Doncic suffered a calf contusion during training camp practice on Tuesday. The Mavericks said he will be re evaluated in 1 week. The severity of the injury seems relatively low.
Thursday October 3rd
Trey Murphy has a right hamstring strain he will be out for at least 3 weeks. He's a candidate to be a starter for the Pelicans this year.
Friday October 4th
Dante Exum was sustained a wrist injury. It is undetermined if he will need surgery for it or not. Exum played importnat minutes during the postseason for the Mavericks.
