Week 19 News Recap

Week 19 features some final rosters moves for teams ahead of Tuesday's opening night. Injury news is also available for teams finishing up training camp. 

Week 19 featured a lot of roster movement amongst the league with players being waived and earning two-way deals with teams. I will cover all the two-way deals and only highlight notable players being waived. 

 

Monday October 14th 

Jalen McDaniels and a second round pick were sent to the Spurs from the Kings. The Spurs plan on waiving McDaniels, who is on an expiring 4.7 million dollar deal.

 

Paul George hyperextended his knee in the first half of a preseason game.  It has been announced that he has a bone bruise in his knee and will be re evaluated in 1 week. 

 

Tuesday October 15th 

Scotty Pippen Jr. earns a guaranteed contract with the Memphis Grizzlies.

 

Wednesday October 16th

Doug McDermott signs a 1 year deal with the Kings. 

 

Thursday October 17th 

Isaiah Hartenstein suffered a fracture in his let hand and will be re evaluated in 5-6 weeks. This loss postpones his debut with the Thunder for at least another month and a half. 

 

Kawhi Leonard will be sidelined for an indefinite amount of time after dealing with knee inflammation. Leonard has dealt with these types of injures throughout a majority of the last couple years. The Clippers need to try and win this year given the Thunder own their first round pick. 

 

Friday October 18th

Blazer's Matisse Thybulle had surgery to help with inflammation in his knee and will be out 3-4 weeks. 

 

Saturday October 19th

Killian Hayes has been waived by the Nets as he recovers from hip surgery.

 

Celtics waived Lonnie Walker. 

 

Max Strus will be out for the Cavs for at least 6 weeks with an ankle sprain. 

 

Sunday October 20th 

Precious Achiuwa has strained his left hamstring and will be re evaluated in 2-4 weeks for the Knicks.
